Know what is happening on your street.
Report what you see. See what your neighbours have reported. And soon, call for help with one press.
The phone app is on its way to the App Store and Google Play.
The map preview needs JavaScript and an internet connection. Everything else on this page works without them.

Report
Saw something? Say so in under a minute.
A break-in, a suspicious car, someone trying doors. Choose what happened, where, and add a photo if you have one. You do not need an account.
See
Your street, your suburb, the places you care about.
Every report appears on a map that everyone can see. The last week needs no account at all; a free account looks back six months.
Get help Coming
One press. The right people, told exactly where you are.
The responders in your area first. If you choose, your security company and the police too. Only when you press — never before.
Our promise
Watchit exists for the people who live here.
-
Free for citizens. Permanently.
If you live in a neighbourhood Watchit covers, you never pay. Not now, not later.
-
On the side of citizens.
Not companies, not government. Where their interests and yours pull apart, you win.
-
We will never sell your information.
Not your name, not your address, not your reports. Not to anyone, not for anything.
Your privacy, in plain words
Promises you can check.
Every company says it takes privacy seriously. These are the specific things Watchit does and does not do. Each one is written down in our privacy policy, and each one is true.
-
Nobody can see which house a report came from.
Every report is shown to the nearest block, never the door — on the map, in the app, and to everyone who uses Watchit, including neighbourhood watches and the police.
-
Nobody can see who reported what.
Reports carry no names, and nothing we store links a report to an account — not for an admin, not for a break-in, not for us. Your own reports are yours because your phone holds the key, not because we keep a list.
-
Your location stays yours.
The app uses your phone's location to show you the map around you. It is never stored unless you put it on a report — and you can place a report by pointing at the map instead, with no location at all.
-
We do not track you, and we never will.
No advertising identifiers, no tracking between apps, nothing sold to anyone. The app asks for no permission it does not need.
-
Your home details will be locked on your phone. Coming
When you can add your home to Watchit for emergencies, those details will be locked with a key only your phone holds. We could not read them if we wanted to.
-
We record crime, not people.
Watchit tracks what happened, never who you are or where you go. That is the whole idea, and it is not going to change.

About
Built in Cape Town, for the neighbourhoods around us.
Watchit is made by Eval Geniuses, a small South African company. It started with a simple question: why does a neighbourhood watch still run on WhatsApp groups and guesswork, when the people doing the work deserve proper equipment?
We are starting in the Western Cape and growing from there. If you run a watch, a security company or a community group and want Watchit where you are, write to us.
